Blanket Care
Top tips to wash and care for your merino or cotton blanket.
Your personalised MyBlanket is crafted to be soft, safe, and long-lasting. With proper care, your Merino or cotton blanket will remain cosy, vibrant, and beautiful for years — a keepsake your family will treasure forever.
Each blanket is made from either 100% extra-fine Merino wool or 100% combed cotton, using only the highest quality yarns. This ensures exceptional softness, comfort, and colour clarity. To preserve its quality, follow our simple wash and care instructions to keep your blanket looking and feeling its best at home.
How to Wash Your Super Soft Merino Blanket:
To keep your merino blanket soft, safe, and looking its best:
- Always wash in cold water – warm or hot water can shrink or damage the wool.
- Hand wash only – gently swish in cold water with care.
- Use a wool-approved detergent – regular detergents are too harsh.
- Do not soak – a quick wash is all it needs.
- Never tumble dry – heat will ruin the natural fibers.
- Dry flat in a cool, shaded place – keep away from direct sunlight or heaters.
- Always check the care label – follow any extra instructions specific to your item.
How to Wash Cotton Blankets:
1. Check the Label:
Always read the care label for specific instructions — some cotton knits may be more delicate than others.
2. Machine Wash (Gentle Cycle):
- Use cold or lukewarm water (30°C / 86°F max).
- Select a gentle or delicate cycle to protect the knit texture.
- Wash separately or with similar colors to avoid dye transfer.
3. Use Mild Detergent:
- Choose a gentle, baby-safe or wool-friendly liquid detergent.
- Avoid bleach or fabric softeners, as they can damage the fibers.
4. Avoid Overloading:
- Don’t overcrowd the machine. Give the blanket space to move freely for an even clean.
- Dry flat in shade to retain shape.
